Current Projects
Sometimes I feel myself to be spread too thin in all that interests me and what I want to do vs. what I actually have time to do.
Regardless, here is a list of things I am currently involved with and that takes up the majority of my time that doesn’t include school.
CrazyEurope.com- This is my baby. I got the inspiration for this one when I was living in Rome, and am currently working (slowly but surely!) towards developing the ultimate “social tourism” portal for young travelers and study abroad students.
Silk Route Expedition- In the planning stages is an expedition that will start in Beijing and end up in Karachi. We anticipate 5 jeeps and 2 months for this to get done. It follows a long tradition of off-road trips and something that was originally planned by my dad and his buddies in 1972 but got canceled last minute because of the Chinese government. This time around the next generation is taking charge and planning out the new trip. Check out Off-road Pakistan for other expeditions.
Eastside Children’s Academy- A 75-100 child preschool for my mom. She’s been a teacher, principle, and director of learning centers since I was born, and the economics of the whole thing tell us that there is a lot of money involved in opening up our own center. This is probably my most active project at the moment.
PeaceTank.org- A few other grad-students from across the country and I are trying to bring the international community together to discuss conflict resolution issues. Think of it this way, there are thousands upon thousands of students in hundreds of universities across the world- all studying, researching, and writing about our geopolitical environment and wars. Most of the papers they write get graded and forgotten forever. Why not bring them out and expose them to the world? What if there is a brilliant idea in there? Or what if the community can work on an idea’s framework to come up with something special?… well, it’s a dream, I’m just mixing a little sweat in with it.
EmpoweredVoter.org- The most politically knowledgeable person I have ever known started this and invited me to work with her. A fantastic resource for US political information. The website tries to educate voters so they make smart decisions and know what they are voting on. Brilliant idea don’t you think?
